Kallelse till Migrationsverket
You are summoned to a personal visit – often for identity verification, passport inspection or an investigation interview.
What the letter means
A summons means Migrationsverket wants to meet you in person. It is a common step in citizenship cases and usually a sign that your case is being actively processed.
The purpose is stated in the letter – most often verification of identity documents, but it can also be an interview about e.g. your residence time.
What you need to do
- 1Confirm the appointment if the letter asks you to, or reschedule in good time if you cannot attend.
- 2Bring the summons letter and valid identification.
- 3Bring the documents stated in the letter – often passport in original (including expired passports).
- 4Arrive on time at the correct office – the address is in the summons.
Common questions
What happens if I do not attend?

Can I bring an interpreter or representative?
Yes, you have the right to bring a representative. If you need an interpreter – notify Migrationsverket in advance and they will arrange it free of charge.
