You submitted a request under Section 12 of the Administrative Procedure Act after six months of processing, or Migrationsverket is responding to such a request.

The letter explains whether the case will be decided within four weeks or whether the request is rejected with reasoning.

1. 1The request can be made at the earliest six months after you submitted the application, and only once per case.
2. 2Send the request in writing with your case number – form available from Migrationsverket, or use the e-service.
3. 3Wait for a response: within four weeks the case should be decided or the request rejected.
4. 4If the request is rejected: consider appealing the rejection to the Migration Court according to the instructions in the decision.

• •Requesting a decision before six months have passed – the request will then be dismissed.
• •Sending the request without a case number.
• •Thinking that rejection of the request means refusal of citizenship itself.
