MMigrationsguidenClarity and structure for your application

What does passport inspection (passport control) mean?

Passport inspection means you must present your passport or identity document in original at Migrationsverket so they can verify your identity and travels.

Why am I summoned?

Migrationsverket checks that the document is genuine, belongs to you and reviews entry and exit stamps to verify your residence time in Sweden. It is a normal step in many citizenship cases.

What should I bring?

Bring the passport or identity document in original (all valid and expired passports if you have several), the summons letter and possibly your residence permit card. Arrive on time – rescheduling can delay your case.

Always check current rules with Migrationsverket as rules may change.
